A place to rant, rave, laugh, and cry about the planning of our wedding...but hopefully none of the latter!

10 January 10
Look what I made for the chapel doors!  They are so cute!
What you need:
Flowers (I used fake flowers from (2) 6’ floral garland strands I bought from Michael’s for $9.99 each.)
Hot glue gun/glue sticks
Ribbon
Floral wire
Sheet of 1” thick styrofoam
Patience
What you do:
Cut out letters in desired font and size.  If you don’t have a styrofoam cutter, a kitchen knife will work.  Just be careful!
Use hot glue to secure about 1 cm worth of ribbon on the top of the letters.
Cut about 1-1/2” of floral wire, bend it into an upside down “U” shape, and press the ends into the ribbon, almost like a staple.  Make sure to leave a little bit of space in front of and behind ribbon so there is room to put flowers there.
Cut the stems off of the flowers a few millimeters below the bud.  This is the part you will stick into the styrofoam.
Press the flower into syrofoam to make a hole.  Remove flower, fill hole with hot glue, stick flower back in.  Cover the front and side surfaces of the letters.
Enjoy!
